Lake Lanier

Lake Lanier, located in North Georgia, boasts 692 miles of shoreline across five counties and attracts over seven million visitors annually. The lake offers diverse recreational activities, including fishing, boating, wakeboarding, open-water swimming, rowing, and kayaking. Anglers can pursue 16 game fish species, such as largemouth bass, lake trout, and striper bass. Notably, Gainesville hosted the 1996 Olympic Canoe and Kayak events at Lake Lanier Olympic Park, now home to the Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club and the Lake Lanier Rowing Club.
